Wrap Facts
WHAT IS CAR WRAPPING, AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Wrapping is a process where a thin, flexible vinyl film is applied to the exterior of a vehicle, changing its appearance without damaging the original paint. We only use vinyl specifically designed to be molded around vehicles and then quickly removed, allowing for customization and protection of the car’s paint. We specialize in both commercial vehicle wraps and color changes.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO WRAP A CAR?
The cost of wrapping a car varies depending on factors such as the vehicle’s size, the design’s complexity, and the quality of the vinyl material used. On average, a full-color change car wrap can cost anywhere from $3500-$5000, while a full-sized van starts at $5500+. If a full wrap is overkill for you, don’t worry. We have plenty of options with partial wraps or logos/lettering power. We have door logos starting at $300 and partial wraps at $1500. Just leave it to our top-tier design team to create a bespoke wrap that fits your style and changes your business influence around town while not breaking the bank.
HOW LONG DOES A CAR WRAP LAST?
A car wrap can last anywhere from 5 to 7 years, depending on factors like the quality of the vinyl, installation, and maintenance. Proper care and regular wash maintenance will help extend the lifespan of the wrap and keep it looking as sharp as the day you got it. Our printed wraps have a lifespan of 7-10 years if maintained properly and are resistant to fade because of the UV lamination we apply on top of the printed graphics. Sunlight is the biggest threat to a wrap; luckily, we live in Washington, so this affect us less.
WILL THE INSIDE OF MY DOORS BE WRAPPED?
Standard wraps do not include door jams, but rest assured, you will not see any paint colors when all the doors are closed. We offer door jams as an additional service, but just so you are aware, it takes a substantial amount of time and is very detailed work.
WILL THE WRAP DAMAGE MY PAINT?
We only use high-quality wrap film designed to be removed and not cause damage to factory paint upon removal. There is no warranty against peeling paint if the paint job is aftermarket, but those cases are rare. After several years, dirt can be absorbed into your paint, and when die-cut graphics are removed, they can leave a ghosting. The paint can easily be restored again with a paint correction or covered up with another wrap and will not be noticeable.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE DESIGN AND WRAP?
It all depends on the size you want with your wrap. If it is simple, with a basic logo and lettering, it will take us about a day for each process. When it comes to installation, a full wrap design takes roughly a week and 3-5 days to install, depending on the vehicle.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE I BRING YOU MY CAR?
Please remove any exterior modifications and wash the vehicle before dropping it off. We offer a washing service. If you don’t have the time, we can include it in the quote, so just ask.
CAN A WRAPPED CAR BE WASHED, AND WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO MAINTAIN IT?
Yes, a wrapped car can be washed. The best way to maintain a car wrap is to hand wash it using a soft wash mitt with mild detergent and water. Avoid using high-pressure washers, abrasive cleaners, and brushes that can damage the vinyl. Touchless car washes are also okay but shouldn’t always be used. For even more protection, we recommend adding a vinyl-specific ceramic coating over the top of the wrap to your service.
WHAT DOES A CERAMIC COATING DO?
Ceramic coatings for vinyl acts like sunscreen for your skin. The same UV rays that burn skin are also being soaked into vinyl. In addition to providing UV protection, it also makes the vinyl much easier to clean. Think of it as the ceramic encasing the vinyl in a Teflon coating on your pans. Dirt has a more challenging time sticking and slides off more easily. We use vinyl materials that are specifically crafted to be applied to vehicles. This means the vinyl already has a UV lamination layer that is good for sun and dirt protection, so the ceramic is not a must. Please let us know when booking your appointment if you want to add this service.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE A CAR WRAP, AND WHAT’S THE PROCESS?
Yes, it is possible to remove the car wrap. The process involves heating the vinyl to soften the adhesive and gently peeling it off. A professional installer can remove the wrap without damaging the paint underneath. The adhesive left behind is removed using special paint-safe adhesive removers and other manual methods, but it must be removed entirely to apply new vinyl. We encourage you to remove your wrap to save money, although be warned that most of our customers opt to have us remove their old wrap as part of their service after they give it a try. We charge an hourly rate and can include that with your quote.
